MY FIRST VISIT

On your first visit to Dynamic Chiropractic you will be asked to fill out a few forms to collect some basic information, your medical history, and informed consent. We will also review our payment and privacy policies with you, verify insurance or confirm cash prices. Dr. Stein will talk with you about any pain or discomfort you are experiencing, and will then complete a thorough examination including X-rays. Typically, Dr. Stein does not adjust new patients on the first visit as he takes time to carefully analyze the x-rays and information collected during the examination before making any diagnosis. However, if you are experiencing a high level of pain he may make a second appointment with you on that same day to provide treatment.

MY SECOND VISIT

Your second visit is typically the first time you will receive an adjustment. When you arrive Dr. Stein will first apply a variety of therapies including muscle stimulation, a cold pack or a hot pack depending on your situation. In addition to these therapies Dr. Stein may apply spinal traction/decompression, flexion distraction, ultrasound, low-level laser and/or light therapy or take additional X-rays if needed. Dr. Stein utilizes the latest chiropractic technologies to offer you the most effective treatment.

Once you experience the necessary pre-adjustment therapies Dr. Stein will apply the appropriate adjustments to begin your care and get you started down the road to recovery.

After the adjustment, Dr. Stein will go over your X-rays with you to clearly point out areas of your body that are misaligned, degenerating joints or disks, bone spurs, etc. He will be sure that you clearly understand exactly what he is seeing on the X-rays so you understand his diagnosis and the reasons for the care he suggests.

ACUTE CARE PHASE

This initial stage of your chiropractic care is specifically designed to provide immediate relief of your pain and alleviate your symptoms. The timeframe of this phase differs for each individual as it depends on your specific situation. During the Acute Care phase of your care Dr. Stein will focus on reducing swelling, alleviating pressure, loosening stiff joints, and providing an all-over reduction of your symptoms. Dr. Stein will also have you focus on physical stability, suggesting stretching and range of motion exercises that you can do at home. Near the end of this phase he will switch his focus to rehabilitation, using strengthening exercises specific to your areas of concern.

MAINTENANCE PHASE

You have completed the first three phases of care and your initial symptoms have been almost entirely relieved; now we want to maintain and proactively take care of your body to avoid a return of similar pain and symptoms. The maintenance phase helps you maintain a healthy body, preventing further degeneration and stopping small problems from becoming big problems. Maintenance may consist of visiting Dr. Stein twice a month to a twice a year — it all depends on your specific physical situation and how well you care for your body on your own by maintaining a proper diet, supplements, and exercise.
